New Director of the Global Health Institute

Dr. Dan O’Neill replaces Dr. Mike Soderling as the new Director of the Global Health Institute. Dr. Dan O’Neill is a physician-theologian. Not only does he have an impactful medical career, working extensively on health and development projects across the globe, but he is also the founder and managing editor of Christian Journal for Global Health and serves as a missions pastor in his local church. He brings great commitment, knowledge, and expertise to lead the Global Health Institute forward. We are especially excited that his leadership will strengthen WCIU's overall commitment to seeing the fullness of the Gospel bring life and flourishing to individuals and communities across the globe. The WCIU community is tremendously excited to welcome Dr. Dan O’Neill into this new role!

We would also like to thank Dr. Mike Soderling, the founding director of the Global Health Institute, for his service and the importance of his work. WCIU’s Director of Institutes, Lowell Bliss says, “On behalf of the WCIU community, we would like to thank Dr. Mike for his many years of hard work in bringing his vision for a global health institute at WCIU to fruition. Besides founding an institute, Mike also formerly served as chair of the WCIU Board. We look forward to continuing to work alongside Mike as he actively represents the GHI and the university in Christian global health networks around the world.
