WCIU is a global online university, seeking to bring solutions to the roots of human problems. Its Masters' courses enable cohorts of leaders from cities around the globe to explore new steps in their organizational or movement or city leadership roles. Its faculty are highly recognized both for their practice and their academic reflection on their involvement at the coal face of mission and development.
The MA in Transformational Urban Leadership program is one of the foremost urban programs globally, with cutting-edge courses grappling with the theology and practice of engaging urban issues in today's mega-cities. All professors are urban professors, working and/or living in marginalized communities. It is a theology program - story-telling theology from the grassroots. It is a development program - community organization and advocacy being explored. It is a social entrepreneurship program. Its women graduates say it is a women's leadership program! Its a church planting program - poor peoples churches! Graduates say that after the many practicum in this program among the urban poor - designing savings groups, pioneering churches, exploring how to start slum schools, writing theses..., they can go anywhere and do anything!!! The following is a job option to structure and mentor the highly committed students who join.
