Dr. Stephen Kitoo

Dr. Stephen Kitoo serves as Associate Professor and Assistant Director of the Master of Arts in Transformational Urban Leadership (MATUL) program at William Carey International University (WCIU). He brings nearly two decades of experience in higher education, pastoral ministry, leadership development, and theological education across Africa and North America. His professional journey has combined teaching, mentoring, and pastoral ministry, enabling him to bridge academic scholarship and practical ministry.

Dr. Kitoo holds a Ph.D. in Education from Liberty University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Daystar University, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from International Leadership University, and a Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) from Scott Christian University.

In addition to his work in higher education, Dr. Kitoo has served in pastoral ministry with the Africa Inland Church (Kenya), providing leadership in both rural and urban contexts. His ministry experience includes church planting, discipleship, leadership development, and Christian education. These experiences have shaped his commitment to equipping leaders to engage their communities and the wider world through the transformative power of the whole gospel.

Dr. Kitoo is passionate about bridging scholarship and practice and equipping emerging leaders with the knowledge, character, and skills needed to serve faithfully and effectively in complex urban environments. His work is guided by the conviction that Christian leadership should contribute to the flourishing of individuals, churches, organizations, and communities for the glory of God.
