On Nov 5, 1976, Frontier Mission Fellowship / US Center for World Mission / now Frontier Ventures was birthed.
Our 50th anniversary theme is hope at the edges, pathways for the nations, naming both where we are called to serve and how we understand the Great Commandment and Great Commission. For five decades, Frontier Ventures has been a catalytic community dedicated to participating in what God is doing among the nations. Again and again, we have seen hope emerge in overlooked places and pathways to Jesus form through loving relationships, mutual learning, innovation, and faithful presence. Our 50th year is both a celebration and an invitation. A celebration of the stories, sacrifices, and faithfulness that have shaped Frontier Ventures. And an invitation—to each of us—to reflect, to give thanks, and to imagine together how God is calling us forward into the next chapter.
On February 25, 1977, William Carey International University, centered at the US Center for World Mission, was established.
Our 50th Anniversary theme Rooted in Vision & Growing in Impact underscores the original purpose of the University as it approaches a new season of opportunity. As our scholar practitioners serve in significant leadership roles around the globe, we see evidence of flourishing community transformation. Our students are able to work in their local contexts while pursuing innovative online graduate degrees. They begin implementing wholistic mission strategies as they work with diverse priorities such as evangelism, church planting, agriculture, drought and water management, food insecurity, vulnerable families, access to health care and education, entrepreneurial ventures, and government service. Through participation in our learning community, our students gain new perspectives and skills needed to address human suffering by developing viable change strategies.
What a privilege it is to be part of five decades of education and training for cohorts of followers of Jesus Christ as they live out the message of the Gospel. We thank God for His faithfulness throughout the generations and eagerly embrace the possibilities that lie ahead for the next 50 years!
