Miracle Ajah

Miracle Ajah is the current Principal Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. He has served the Church in different capacities before his election as the Principal Clerk in 2020. Also, Ajah is an Associate Professor of Old Testament at the Department of Religious Studies, National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja (on leave of absence). He obtained his Doctor of Theology (Old Testament) at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, 2006; Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary Texas, USA, 2001; Bachelor of Arts (Religion) at University of Nigeria, Nsukka, 1995; and Diploma in Theology at Trinity Union Theological College, Umuahia, 1986. In summer 2015, Ajah did a proficiency course in Biblical Hebrew at Hebrew University, Jerusalem. He has taught Biblical Hebrew and Old Testament courses at different tertiary institutions since 2000, authored Biblical Hebrew Grammar, Tithing in the Old Testament, and numerous articles published in accredited journals. His research interest is in the Pentateuch, Leadership Development and Bible Translation, and his publications include issues such as poverty and security, women in leadership, and fostering social justice through distance learning.
