Help Us Bless Others!

Dear WCIU Colleagues and Friends,

I am writing near the eve of the visit of the agency that we have approached for evaluating our effectiveness and quality as a University. Of course, we are in no position now to know what the outcome will be, but I can say this:

Regardless of the outcome, the whole process has dramatically improved us as a university. Almost every facet of what we do has been reviewed, updated, and revitalized.

Because of this I am eager to once again focus on finding new students whom we can come alongside as they prepare themselves for their next phases of life and service.

Most of our new applicants for the MA program come to us by referral, because students and faculty and alumni tell someone else about us.

We have heard from several other universities that WCIU’s emphases on missiology, theology and history are a unique feature in comparison with other international development programs.

Our increasingly sharper focus on “most neglected” peoples and regions is another unique feature.

And if you are one of our alumni, you already know the rich blessing of our Foundations of Biblical Faith course, a core plank in our program, in which students dig deeply into topics such as:

1. Introduction; Origins of Life 

2. The Biblical Plan 

3. The Unfolding Story 

4. The Gospels and the Global Mission 

5. The Emerging Church and the Classical Renaissance 0–400 CE 

6. The Carolingian and 12th Century Renaissances: 400–1200 

7. Secular and Evangelical Renaissance: 1200–2000 

8. The Collapse of Colonialism: The Rise of Globalism and New Missions 

9. “Beyond Christianity,” and Indicators of the Future Frontiers of the Kingdom

I do not know of another program that so uniquely equips students to integrate biblical perspectives into their principles and practices while at the same time enabling them to discern the cultural and worldview influences in the international development challenges they face.
