A New Era Begins

In early 2023, new President Dr. Paul Cornelius began his leadership, and is helping to lead WCIU into a new chapter in its research and preparation of women and men to work at the roots of human problems. We believe that Paul’s background and experience in the Global South, uniquely equips him to lead WCIU and our global community into a new season of growth and increased effectiveness as we seek to address the roots of human problems around the world.

Carrying the Vision

WCIU, since its inception, has always sought to provide training to women and men on the ground and, as it were, in the trenches. Dr. Ralph D. Winter’s vision was to make training for engagement relevant, dynamic, and accessible. This emphasis continues to drive the vision and mission of the institution. Today, WCIU serves leaders of movements and organizations working with marginalized and needy communities in equipping them to be Christ’s presence and agents of transformation. Our vision for the years ahead is to expand WCIU’s footprint by means of fruitful training partnerships across the globe, and through its several Institutes to be a catalyst for awareness and change in needy communities in the world. Our mission is to see men and women formed in such a way they become Christ’s incarnational presence in the culture and contexts they find themselves in.

We invite you to join us in this journey as we envision a “verdant and flourishing world, ripe with wholeness and peace for all peoples”.
