Mentor Application Steps
Steps to Apply to be a Mentor for a student applying for a Master of Arts in International Development with a Specialization in Global Civilization.
Thank you so much for considering a mentor/student relationship with an applicant for the Global Civilization study program. For more information about the program itself, please write to admissions@wciu.edu.
We highly value our mentors who are local to our students, and who are able to be WCIU’s representative for academic accountability and guidance.
Step 1. Read the Mentor Job Description and Guidelines.
This will give you an idea of what is expected.
Step 2. Complete the Personal Information Form.
Step 3. Request a Reference.
Please request a Reference from someone not related to you, who knows your character and goals.
Step 4. Have an official copy of your transcripts sent to WCIU.
WCIU normally requires that applicants request official transcripts to be sent from the issuing institution directly to WCIU by postal mail. If a foreign institution does not issue official transcripts, please contact the Admissions & Records Office. WCIU can review an application with unofficial transcripts, but official transcripts from will need to follow.

Step 5. Email your agreement to WCIU's Purpose and Constituency statement. Your agreement will indicate your understanding of WCIU's purpose, constituency, and goals, and a willingness to abide by the policies of WCIU and to live in accordance with the University's values.
