Student ____________________________________Mentor ___________________________________Date____________ Evaluate the students work for each mentoring session. You do not need to grade each lesson individually. Mentoring sessions typically cover 4-6 lessons, but feel free to use a schedule that works for you and your students. The number of sessions will vary for different students, usually ranging from 5 to 11 for a semi-module. Use as many blanks below as you need; add blanks as needed. Take into consideration: (1) Reflection Questions and Review Notes for the lessons, (2) Response Pages (personal response, intellectual journal), and (3) Mentoring Session discussions. Give more weight to learning activities that require more work. Provide summary grades for the students Inductive Bible Study work and for Teaching Preparation/Teaching some of the materials. Your evaluation plus the combined language tests constitute 25% of the students total grade for the semi-module. Grades should be based on the students comprehension of the materials, not just on effort. Use the standard grading system: AF with +/. In social sciences and humanities in American universities a typical distribution of all student grades might be: range for undergraduate grades: 25-35% A, A- 30-45% B+, B, B- 25-45% C+, C, C- 5-15% D+ or lower range for graduate grades: 35-55% A, A- 35-60% B+, B, B- 5-15% C+ or lower To graduate, M.A. students must earn at least an overall B average, with at least a B- for each module. B.A. students need at least a C average, with at least a C- for each module. Students falling below these minimum grades for a module will need to repeat it before taking the next module. To avoid probation, graduate students need at least a B for the module, undergraduates at least a C. A+ grades are exceedingly rare. F- is used only when students do not do any work or totally misunderstand lessons. Please try to assess each students work in view of the level of understanding of concepts, and ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate information, expected of students at the undergraduate or graduate level. While students may show great improvement over time, some might never reach an A level of comprehension, because of lack of study time, less ability to handle analytical concepts, or other personal factors. Keep in mind that graduates of this program may be asked to teach the materials at a university or other educational institution in the future. Thank you for helping us assess different students achievements.
